Common questions

How do I join a meeting?

Open the meeting link, or go to the Join page and enter the code (it looks like abc-defg-hij). You do not need an account: guests join with just a name. If the host uses a waiting room, you will be let in as soon as they admit you.

My camera or microphone does not work

Your browser must be allowed to use them: click the camera icon in the address bar and choose Allow, then reload. Close other apps that may be using the camera (other video apps, other tabs). Use a current Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. On a phone, check the browser's permission in the phone's settings.

How do I sign in?

Type your email address or your mobile number on the Sign in page; it is the same screen for new and existing accounts. A 10-digit number is treated as an Indian number; for any other country start with + and your country code. Indian numbers sign in with a code we text you (while text messages are switched on), everyone else with a password. You can also use a passkey.

I did not get the text message

Wait a minute and ask for a new code. Check that the number is right and that your phone can receive SMS from business senders (numbers on do-not-disturb lists can block them). If it still does not arrive, sign in with your password if you have set one, or contact us.

I forgot my password

Self-service password reset is not available yet. Contact us from the email address or mobile number on your account and we will help you back in. If you have a passkey or an Indian mobile number with text messages on, you can sign in without the password.

How do I add or change my mobile number?

Open your account menu, choose Profile, and add your number. Accounts that were created before a number was required can add one there.

Is my meeting private?

Meetings are only joinable with the link or code. You can also create an end-to-end encrypted meeting, where the audio and video cannot be read by our servers. Chat, files, notes and the whiteboard are not end-to-end encrypted, and the meeting says so.

How do I report abuse?

Tell us the meeting code, the time and what happened, and we will look into it. Hosts can also remove people, lock the meeting and turn off chat from inside the meeting.

Something wrong in a meeting?

Hosts can remove people, lock the meeting and turn off chat from inside the room. To report abuse, email support with the meeting code, the time and what happened.
